Establishing of an Integrated and Financially Self-sustainable Waste Management System

1. Project Title Preparation of project studies (FSs, EIAs, CBAs), design and tender documentation for establishing of an integrated and financially self-sustainable waste management system in East and Northeast Region
Main Objectives of the Project To contribute, via the development of integrated and financially self-sustainable waste management systems in selected regions of the country, to the sustainable and continuous improvement of the quality of the natural environment of the regions and of the country, in order to reach European Union (EU) standards, especially in relation to public health and environmental protection

5. Project Title Preparation of necessary documents for establishing of an Integrated and Financially Self-sustainable Waste Management System in Pelagonija, Southwest, Vardar and Skopje Regions
Main Objectives of the Project The project main objectives are the preparation of Regional Waste Management Plans (RWMPs) and the relevant Strategic Environmental Assessments (SEAs), the preparation of Feasibility Studies (FSs), Cost‐Benefit Analyses (CBAs), Environmental Impact Assessment (EIAs), Detailed Designs (DD) and assistance with preparation of Tender Dossiers (TDs) for works contracts for construction of selected waste treatment and disposal facilities, closure of noncompliant landfills/dumpsites, as well as preparation of the needed documents  for supply of equipment for waste collection and transferring of waste according to the EU standards for Pelagonija, Southwest, Vardar and Skopje Regions. Moreover stakeholder involvement activities are part of the contract
Project Outputs/Activities The outputs of the project consist of the approved deliverables of the main Objectives for each one of the four Regions, namely RWMPs, SEAs, FSs, CBAs, EIAs, DD and Volumes 3, 4 and 5 of the TDs for the works contracts, needs assessment, market analysis and Technical Specifications for supply of equipment for waste collection and transferring. Stakeholder involvement and public awareness activities are also belonging to the outputs of the contract. The project will be implemented through activities (site visits of existing landfills, dumpsites and rest waste management facilities, completion of questionnaires, qualitative and quantitative waste analysis etc.), reporting, meetings, seminars and workshops and preparation of the necessary documents
